Jammu, Jun 15: Bharatiya Janata Party’s senior-most leaders and Central ministers are coming to Jammu and Kashmir this month to highlight the achievements of the nine years of the Modi government, ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address a mega rally on June 23 at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will address a ‘security conclave’ at Jammu on June 26, the venue for which is being finalised and the list of the invitees is also being prepared by the party’s J&K unit. The national president of BJP’s youth wing, BJYM, Tejasvi Surya is also going to visit Jammu on June 27 and will address a rally here.
“The venue for Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s security conclave at Jammu for June 26 will be finalised tomorrow (Friday),” J&K UT BJP president Ravinder Raina told Rising Kashmir, adding that the party is preparing the list of invitees for the security conclave.
However, the J&K BJP claimed that the security conclave to be addressed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is “totally a non-political event”.
Raina said the retired Army officers, defence experts, intellectuals, writers, media persons and think tanks from various parts of the Union Territory of J&K will be invited by the party to attend the conclave.
Rajnath Singh will discuss the security and other important issues with the participants and also share the strong positioning of India in defence and other matters concerning the nation’s security and safety of the citizens residing along the borders.
The visit of the BJP leaders including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and others to J&K is part of the party’s nationwide ‘Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyaan’ launched to highlight the achievements of the ‘Nine Years of Modi Government’ and to reach out to the people with these achievements ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The Home Minister’s visit on June 23 coincided with the ‘Balidan Diwas’ of the BJP’s ideologue Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. Shah will address a rally at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, to highlight the achievements of the Modi government.
