Srinagar, Oct 25: In response to the evolving Middle East crisis, a comprehensive security review meeting was convened at the Headquarters of the 15 Corps in Srinagar. Top officials representing various security agencies came together to strategise and coordinate security measures in the Union Territory.
PRO Defense Srinagar in a communiqué said that the meeting was jointly presided over by Advisor Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir R R Bhatnagar, and Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, Army Commander of the Northern Command.
“Numerous aspects related to the prevailing security situation in the Union Territory were discussed. DGP J&K, Chinar Corps Cdr, and other senior officials from the military, state administration, and security agencies attended the meeting. The situation in the Middle East was deliberated and various contingency scenarios dwelled on,” he said.
A senior police officer informed Rising Kashmir that the primary agenda of the meeting was to address the ongoing Middle East crisis and its potential ramifications in the Himalayan region. “There are certain individuals or groups with intentions to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in Kashmir, and their activities are currently under vigilant scrutiny,” he said.
The officer further said “It is also important to remain vigilant as neighboring countries may attempt to propagate their agenda in our region. Our police officials will continue to closely monitor social media platforms to identify and address any disruptive elements.”
“The neighboring country can spread propaganda in the region and police officials will also keep watch on social media to identify the miscreants,” he added.
