Asmita Khelo India Women League – Cycling Event Set for July 27

Cycling Association of J&K to host event under Khelo India initiative

Jammu, July 20: The Cycling Association of Jammu and Kashmir is set to host the Asmita Khelo India Women League – Cycling Event on July 27 at 6:00 am at M.A. Stadium, Jammu, as part of the nationwide Khelo India initiative by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.As per a statement issued here, the event aims to promote and empower women through sports, aligning with the Khelo India mission of enhancing women’s participation in athletics across the country. The competition will be held in two age categories – Junior Girls and Elite Women – and is open to female cyclists from across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Participants must register online through the official Khelo India portal (link not yet provided). The organisers have extended invitations to media personnel, cycling enthusiasts, and the general public to attend the event and support women in sport. “This event is a testament to our commitment to fostering a culture of athleticism and supporting the aspirations of women athletes,” said a spokesperson of the Cycling Association of J&K. “We are grateful to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for their support and guidance, and to our team who have worked diligently to make this event a success.”The Cycling Association reaffirmed its commitment to promoting cycling and sports across the region, and encouraged women athletes to seize this opportunity to compete and excel on a recognised platform.
