JAMMU, MAY 16: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday issued a major reshuffle in the AGMUT cadre, ordering the transfer of nine IAS and three IPS officers to Jammu and Kashmir, while the order also includes the reassignment of six IAS officers currently serving in J&K to other locations, while two previously ordered transfers have now been revoked.
Among the senior officers transferred from Jammu and Kashmir are Chief Electoral Officer P K Pole (2004 batch) and Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri (2005 batch). Other IAS officers transferred from the UT include Sanjiv M Gadkar, Shakeel Ul Rehman Rather, Pardeep Kumar, and Rahul Sharma, all from the 2013 batch.
The reshuffle, which involves officers from the AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory) cadre, includes the posting of senior IAS officers Ashish Chandra Verma (1994 batch) and Anil Kumar Singh (1995 batch) to J&K from the national capital.
The IAS officers who have also been posted to J&K include Naveen S L (2012 batch), Choudhary Mohammad Yasin (2015 batch), Shrikant Balasaheb Suse (2016 batch), Shreya Singhal (2020 batch), Mahima Madan (2021 batch), Ananth Dwivedi (2021 batch), and Rakesh Kumar (2021 batch).
The IPS cadre transfers to Jammu and Kashmir include Sameer Sharma (2011 batch) from Lakshadweep, and Delhi-based officers Sandeep Gupta (2015 batch) and Rishi Kumar (2021 batch).
In a partial revision of a previous order dated October 17, 2024, the MHA has also withdrawn the transfer of two officers. The posting of Saugat Biswas (IAS, 2006 batch) from Arunachal Pradesh to J&K, and Yasha Mudgal (IAS, 2007 batch) from J&K to Puducherry, has been officially cancelled.
The large-scale reshuffle is part of routine cadre management under the AGMUT policy.
