Srinagar, May 01: On the occasion of Labour Day, Kashmir Society International chairman Khwaja Farooq Renzushah addressed a conference here to remember the contribution of labour force in the development of Jammu & Kashmir.
Renzushah, who was the chief guest on the occasion, recalled the Silk Factory labourers of the 19th century who he said “made Kashmir proud throughout the world in silk production”.
Khwaja threw light on various issues and vehemently criticised extremist ideologies across the subcontinent. In the event, he was honoured with the ‘First May Youm E Mehnat Kash Award’ which symbolises the sacrifices made by Kashmiri labourers right from Zaldagar to the present times.
