Srinagar, Feb 01: “The Union Budget 2025-26 is a transformational and inclusive roadmap designed to uplift the poor, destitute, women and farmers while propelling the nation towards sustainable economic growth,” said Altaf Thakur, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and party’s spokesperson for Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
Thakur in a statement said the budget reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to social welfare and inclusive development, ensuring that the benefits of economic progress reach every corner of the country, including Jammu and Kashmir. “Raising the income tax limit from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 12 lakh a year is a great and revolutionary announcement by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman,” he said.
The BJP leader said the increased allocation for rural development, enhanced support for farmers and focused initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment showcase the government’s dedication to addressing the concerns of the common man. “This budget is aimed at lifting the spirits of the marginalised and boosting grassroots development,” he said, praising the Centre and Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman for her “people-centric” approach.
