Bandipora, Jun 06: WarisulNaveed, a student from Brar village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district has achieved a remarkable feat by topping the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2024, results of which were declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday.
The NEET-UG exam, held on May 5, 2024, saw thousands of aspiring medical students compete for a place in the nation’s top medical colleges.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir, Waris expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah for blessing him with success and acknowledged the role his parents, especially his uncle, played in his journey.
Waris said his educational journey began at Wular Valley Educational Institute in Papchan, where he studied until the 7th standard. He then continued his education at Alfalah Educational Institute in Aragam, completing his 12th class there. From a young age, Waris had set his sights on becoming a doctor, a dream that guided his educational path.
Integral to his success were the resources and support provided by Akash Institute in Srinagar and Physics Wallah. “The support and study material from Akash Institute and Physics Wallah played an important role in my success,” Waris stated.
He also said that while hard work is crucial, consistency is equally important, urging fellow students to remain committed to their goals.
While talking to Rising Kashmir, Waris’ father said that his joy knew no bounds when he heard that his son topped the Kashmir division.
Describing his son as consistently dedicated to his studies, he noted that Waris required little counseling or advice about the importance of education.
“I have always shared a friendly bond with my son, which played an important role in his success”, he said, adding that unlike many parents who often pressurize their children to achieve their goals, he provided a supportive and stress-free environment to Waris.
He also said that their relationship, built on mutual respect and a shared love for cricket, boosted an environment where Waris could thrive. “We even play cricket together and discuss various topics, including sports, like friends,” he added.
He said that his son’s success is not just his personal victory but a source of inspiration for the whole village.
The support from local educational institutions and the mentorship from Akash Institute and Physics Wallah were pivotal in Waris’ preparation for the NEET-UG examination, he added.
