Budgam, Aug 04: In a significant move aimed at improving network connectivity in the picturesque tourist hotspot of Doodhpathri in the Budgam district, Jio Telecom has embarked on the groundwork for the installation of a new mobile tower. The lack of proper network coverage in this popular destination has been a long-standing issue, hindering communication for both tourists and locals.
The Deputy Commissioner of Budgam, Akshay Labroo, highlighted the importance of Doodhpathri as a sought-after tourist location that attracts a substantial number of national and international visitors daily. Labroo expressed his optimism regarding the positive impact that improved network coverage would have on the region.
Labroo revealed, “Due to the non-availability of proper network connectivity in this tourist destination, Jio Telecom has started the groundwork for the installation of the tower in Doodhpathri.” He further mentioned that feedback from the public, coupled with Jio Telecom’s substantial subscriber base, prompted the district administration to approach the company for tower installation. Following the completion of all necessary legal formalities, Jio Telecom received the green light for tower installation in the area.
One of the key advantages of this initiative is the potential increase in tourist footfall. With a functional tower in place, tourists and local visitors can stay seamlessly connected with their families during their time in Doodhpathri. The move is expected to alleviate communication concerns that have previously deterred tourists from fully enjoying their experience.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed confidence that the Jio Tower’s activation would provide much-needed relief to all those visiting Doodhpathri. Additionally, he shed light on the broader context of improving connectivity in the region. “Under the Government of India’s 4G saturation scheme, BSNL has also started the groundwork for the installation of mobile towers at the Yousmarg tourist destination,” Labroo announced. This dual initiative, encompassing both Doodhpathri and Yousmarg, is poised to not only enhance the overall tourist experience but also create employment opportunities for the local population residing in nearby villages.
As Jio Telecom works toward bringing reliable network coverage to Doodhpathri and the efforts of BSNL contribute to the enhancement of Yousmarg’s connectivity, the region anticipates a positive transformation in terms of tourism influx, local development, and communication convenience.
