Baramulla, Aug 22: Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla, achieved remarkable recognition by securing the impressive 4th position on the national stage and maintained a consistent 1st position within the entire Union Territory of J&K on the newly launched Scan and Share portal under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).

A health care official said that this achievement underscores the dedication and enthusiasm of a team of committed individuals who have embraced the vision set at the national level and worked diligently to implement it.

Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi, Medical Superintendent AHGMC said that the team’s remarkable efforts have propelled the GMC Baramulla onto the national map of excellence in healthcare and wellness provision.

“The institution now offers a comprehensive package of digital services, encompassing hospital registration and the creation of a secure personal health data repository for patients,” he said.

This innovative approach enables access to crucial health profiles anytime and anywhere, ensuring efficient and effective healthcare delivery.

Dr. Parvaiz praised this accomplishment as a significant milestone in the journey towards digitizing patient health records.

He emphasized that the Government Medical College in Baramulla has made a considerable contribution to India’s ambitious mission of digitizing various sectors, particularly within the realm of information technology.

This success has been attributed to the coordinated efforts of the administration and the Medical Records department, both of which played pivotal roles in ABDM’s success.

To celebrate these champions of success in the field, an award felicitation ceremony was organized under the esteemed patronage of Dr. Ruby Reshi, principal GMC , and Dr. Parvaiz Masoodi, the Medical Superintendent.

The event was attended by prominent professors and department heads who joined in honoring these achievers.

Expressing the college’s unwavering commitment to achieving healthcare excellence as directed by the government, a college representative reaffirmed their dedication to continually enhancing healthcare provisions.

He said that the landmark achievement underscores the strides made by GMC Baramulla in embracing digital innovations to elevate healthcare services, positioning the institution as a model for others to emulate in the journey towards a digitally empowered India.
