New Delhi, Aug 10: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday presented a significant report on the nationwide programmes held to commemorate the death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
The event was attended by key BJP leaders, including National Executive Member of Minority Morcha and In-charge of Rajasthan Morcha Joseph John, BJP National General Secretary and National In-charge of Morcha Dushyant Kumar Gautam, and National President of Minority Morcha Jamal Siddiqui, the party said in a statement issued here. Also present were National Vice President S.M. Akram and National Executive Member Dr Asmal.
On July 27, the 9th death anniversary of Dr Kalam, the BJP Minority Morcha, under the leadership of its National President Jamal Siddiqui, launched a special campaign across the country. The campaign aimed to honour the memory and contributions of Dr Kalam, transcending religion and caste, with a focus on strengthening the nation.
The campaign began on July 27 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, where Jamal Siddiqui laid flowers at Dr Kalam’s tomb, marking the commencement of the nationwide tribute. Dr Kalam’s family members participated in the event, offering prayers for the country’s progress and peace.
Jamal Siddiqui said the BJP values those who have contributed to the nation’s strength, irrespective of religion or caste. He said that in line with directives from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National President JP Nadda, the Minority Morcha announced the “Dr Kalam Startup Award” to recognise and encourage minority youth across the country.
Nominations for the award were invited through social media until August 08. The award ceremony is scheduled for August 12, where seven individuals from each state will be honoured with the “Dr Kalam Startup Award”. This initiative aims to inspire young entrepreneurs and innovators from minority communities, celebrating their contributions to the nation’s development, the statement said.
