J&K shines as beacon of resilience & prosperity: LG

JAMMU, Jan 26: On the momentous occasion of the 75th Republic Day, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir. 
Marking the adoption of the Constitution in 1950, Sinha paid tribute to freedom fighters and policymakers whose sacrifices and vision shaped the nation.
In his address, Sinha paid homage to the Bravehearts of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Armed Forces, and Central Armed Police Forces, acknowledging their sacrifices in safeguarding the unity and integrity of the nation. The LG praised the courageous soldiers stationed in challenging terrains, ensuring the pride of the tricolour.
Sinha urged society to unite against those supporting or justifying terrorism, emphasising the need for courage and discipline. 
Sinha stated, “For sustainable development, our society has to be united, courageous, and disciplined to fight against those who are promoting, justifying, or condoning terrorism.” Sinha called for isolating elements using double standards to justify terrorist acts.
Emphasizing the collective efforts that strengthen the Republic, Sinha acknowledged the contributions of farmers, soldiers, women, scientists, teachers, and various communities. He highlighted the governance’s commitment to social justice, liberty, dignity, and equality, reflecting on the past decade as a period of realizing the dreams of the forefathers.
Noting India’s rise to the world’s fifth-largest economic power, Sinha spoke of neglected communities finding a voice through inclusive development. “Jammu and Kashmir, representing resilience and self-confidence, is paving the way for the well-being and prosperity of humanity,” he said.
Sinha expressed the vision to build a developed India in the next 25 years, outlining aspirations for a modern Jammu and Kashmir. He envisioned a region framed by policies reflecting human values, merit-based opportunities, and an environment of peace and tranquility.
Highlighting India’s economic power, Sinha underscored the inclusive development witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir. The region, once neglected, now stands as a beacon, guiding the world through challenging times.
The LG stressed the importance of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and the resilient image of a self-confident India.
Sinha highlighted the government’s focus on revitalizing traditional industries in the region, providing economic empowerment at the grassroots level. Initiatives like skill development programs, financial assistance, and market linkages are fostering entrepreneurship and sustaining the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
The LG stressed the importance of educational excellence in shaping the future. With numerous schools and colleges witnessing significant infrastructural upgrades and technology integration, the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are now better equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving world.
Underscoring the transformative power of technology, Sinha outlined plans to make Jammu and Kashmir a hub of innovation. The region’s leap into the digital era includes initiatives to enhance connectivity, promote e-governance, and foster a tech-savvy environment, empowering citizens and businesses alike.
Acknowledging the natural beauty and ecological significance of Jammu and Kashmir, Sinha emphasized the importance of environmental stewardship. The government is committed to sustainable development practices, ensuring the preservation of the region’s pristine landscapes for future generations.
Highlighting the cultural diversity of Jammu and Kashmir, the LG celebrated the spirit of unity in diversity. Initiatives promoting social harmony and inclusivity are creating a mosaic of cultures that contribute to the rich tapestry of the region, fostering a sense of belonging and national pride.
Praising the resilience of India, Sinha acknowledged the transformation of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, stating it turned a profit of Rs 1,200 crore, with the NPA reduced from 11 to 4.8 percent since 2019. Additionally, he mentioned the registration of 34 lakh individuals on the employment opportunities portal.
Concluding his address, Sinha reiterated the commitment to people-centric governance. The government aims to be responsive to the needs of the citizens, ensuring transparency, accountability, and accessibility. The LG urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to actively participate in the democratic process, shaping a brighter and inclusive future for the region.
Sinha also laid a wreath at the ‘Eternal Flame’ of the Balidan Stambh War Memorial in Jammu to pay tribute to the fallen heroes on the occasion of 75th Republic Day on Friday.
 
 
LG hosts ‘At Home’ on the 75th R-Day
 Jammu, Jan 26:  Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, hosted an ‘At Home’ reception on the occasion of 75th Republic Day at Raj Bhawan, Jammu. The Lt Governor interacted with the family members of martyrs, freedom fighters, ex-Servicemen, achievers and citizens of the Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir and exchanged Republic Day greetings.
