Doda, Oct 12: Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan, inaugurated a 10-day residential trekking expedition for boys and girls in the age groups U-14 and U-17. This exciting expedition was organised by the District Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Department in Doda.
The expedition’s primary objective is to foster a love for adventure sports among the youth and offer them the chance to explore the natural beauty of the region. Experienced instructors will guide the participants, teaching them essential skills like navigation, camping and survival techniques.
During the flag-off ceremony, DC Doda encouraged the participants to seize this opportunity and develop a spirit of adventure and teamwork. He emphasised the significance of physical fitness and outdoor activities in the holistic development of young individuals.
DC Doda also assured the participants that the district administration would extend all necessary support and resources to ensure the expedition’s success. He expressed his hope that this initiative would inspire more young people to actively engage in sports and adventure activities.
