Poonch, July 03: A high-level review meeting was convened in Mandi, Poonch ahead of the sacred Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Chattani Yatra. The meeting, chaired by Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vishwatmanand Saraswati Maharaj, and attended by DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Tejinder Singh & DC Poonch, focused on ensuring tight security arrangements, smooth logistics, and all necessary pilgrim facilities for the upcoming yatra. Senior officers from multiple departments, temple committee members, and local civil society representatives participated were present during the meeting.
During the meeting, DIG Tejinder Singh assured that multi-layered security protocols are in place which include deployment of additional forces, CCTV surveillance, checkpoints, and 24/7 patrolling to ensure the safety of all pilgrims.
Moreover, DC Poonch highlighted that medical camps, water and sanitation facilities, temporary shelters, and emergency services will be provided along the yatra route. He also announced that repair work on the Chandak–Mandi road will start soon to ensure smoother travel for pilgrims.
Swami Vishwatmanand hailed the administration’s efforts and called for collective coordination to ensure a peaceful, devotional, and successful yatra. Civil society leaders and locals also assured their full support in welcoming pilgrims warmly.
