Jammu, Jul 02: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Udhampur East, Ranbir Singh Pathania, on Wednesday inaugurated langars at Tikri, Mand West, Mand East along the revered Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra route from Tikri to Battal Balian along with Jammu-Srinagar highway.

Speaking on the occasion, Pathania described the Yatra as a powerful example of India’s civilisational wisdom — blending faith, history, moral values, and national unity.

Calling it the “bedrock of pluralism and cultural strength,” he said the Amarnath Yatra reflects the essence of India — a country that respects all faiths and stands united in diversity. “This is not just a pilgrimage; it’s a living lesson in how we preserve our identity while respecting others. It is an embodiment of our history, heritage, and values,” he added

Urging people to view such events as platforms for moral education, Pathania said that values like compassion, discipline, patriotism, and service are best learned when lived — not just read. “We need to take moral education beyond the four walls of a classroom. Traditions like these teach us to respect others, care for our community, and serve selflessly. That is the real India,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of safety and security, the MLA applauded the administration and security agencies for their impeccable arrangements. He remarked, “The smooth and peaceful conduct of the Yatra is proof of how committed we are to protecting our people and their faith. Security is not just about force — it’s about confidence, coordination, and care. It reflects the strength of our democracy.”

He called upon citizens to be responsible partners in this process. “Ensuring safety is not the job of authorities alone. It is our shared responsibility. Let us remain vigilant, cooperative, and united — because when people and administration walk together, no challenge is too big,” he said.

In a sharp message to political detractors, the BJP leader criticised those who attempt to manufacture controversy and unrest. “While the nation moves forward in unity and service, some choose to divide for political gain. Let us reject negativity and embrace the spirit of brotherhood and responsibility,” he urged.

Earlier in the day, Pathania welcomed the first batch of Amarnath Yatris at Shri Kali Mata Mandir, where the air was filled with devotion and cultural energy. Local artists performed traditional dances and songs, capturing the spiritual essence and cultural richness of the region.
