Srinagar, Jul 02: Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board chairperson and Minister of State, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, visited Baltal Base Camp on Wednesday afternoon to oversee arrangements for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
During her visit, she toured the entire camp area, welcomed and felicitated the first batch of yatris, and interacted with pilgrims, extending her best wishes for a successful yatra.
Dr Andrabi inaugurated the Bahandara of Mahadev Seva Samiti at Baltal, which will serve pilgrims throughout the yatra period. She also engaged with service providers and departmental representatives to review preparedness for the pilgrimage.
Speaking to the media, the Waqf Board chairperson highlighted the spiritual significance of the Yatra, saying, “The historic Shri Amarnath Yatra is a symbol of harmony in Kashmir. It signifies Hindu-Muslim unity, and we are all committed to strengthening this bond.”
She said the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, in coordination with government departments and the people of J&K, has ensured a foolproof yatra, maintaining the land’s longstanding tradition of spiritual and cultural excellence.
Dr Andrabi further said that the yatra attracts people from across India, exemplifying the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat’. She reaffirmed her commitment to fostering unity and harmony through such sacred events.
