Srinagar, Dec 05: A day after TA soldier was injured in terror attack in Tral, security forces on Thursday arrested two terror associates in Lower Munda area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Kulgam and recovered arms and ammunition, including two AK-47 rifles from their possession.
A police official said that during a naka checking two terror associates were arrested and recovery was made at Gulab Bagh near Lower Munda area of Qazigund. We recovered 2 AK-47 rifles; 4 magazines and some rounds from their possession and cases have been registered in this matter, he said.
“The accused have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Rashid Bhat of Nipora and Altaf Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Ahad Lone of Teesan Kachpora Zadoora,” the official said.
He further said that further investigations are underway.
The move comes a day after a Territorial Army (TA) soldier who was on leave, was injured after terrorists opened fire on him in the Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The injured Army soldier identified as Delhair Mushtaq S/o Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi resident of Sofigund Tral. He was posted at Pattan Baramulla. Following the terrorist attack, security forces launched a massive Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in south Kashmir to track down the attackers.
