Qazigund, Mar 18: Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to Chief Minister, on Tuesday called for full investigation into the mysterious deaths of two Gujjar-Bakarwal youth in Kulgam, saying public must know truth behind such incidents.
Speaking to reporters in Chandian village where he visited the grieving family alongside Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and Cabinet Minister Sakina Itoo, Wani expressed condolences and emphasised the need for a thorough probe.
“We are here to stand with the family in this painful time. Losing two sons from the same household is a tragedy beyond words. No matter how much we condemn this incident, it is not enough,” he said.
Wani said the Lieutenant Governor’s administration must start a thorough investigation. “We have requested the LG and authorities to fully investigate these deaths. We need to understand the reasons behind them, especially since similar incidents have occurred elsewhere,” he said.
Referring to previous cases, he said, “It happened in Kathua, then here, and in other places. Children go missing, and their bodies are later found under mysterious circumstances. This pattern raises serious concerns. Whether it was an accident or a conspiracy, the truth must come out.”
The CM’s Advisor reiterated the family’s demand for answers. “The missing boys had attended a wedding before disappearing a month ago. Now, two bodies have been recovered, and one is still missing. The family deserves to know what happened,” he said.
Wani said justice requires transparency. “If there is a conspiracy, it must be exposed. If it was an accident, that must be confirmed. The truth is the priority, and the family has the right to know,” he said.
