Jammu, March 18: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Shantmanu Tuesday launched ‘Jaadui Pitara’ at the SCERT divisional office Jammu, a pioneering initiative aimed at revolutionising early childhood education in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The launch event was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director SCERT Jammu and H.R. Pakhroo, Joint Director Central SCERT J&K. ‘Jaadui Pitara’ is an innovative learning toolkit designed to make foundational education more engaging, interactive, and joyful. It incorporates play-based and activity-based resources such as storybooks, flashcards, puzzles and puppets, fostering experiential and multi-sensory learning. The initiative aims to strengthen foundational literacy, numeracy, and cognitive development among young learners.
On this occasion, ACS Shantmanu also launched ‘Suno Kahani’, a storytelling programme designed to enhance children’s language skills, imagination, and critical thinking. He commended SCERT Jammu for conceptualising and implementing these creative educational initiatives, highlighting the transformative role of storytelling in early childhood development. During his visit, Prof. (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor welcomed ACS and briefed him on the various units and departments of SCERT. She also delivered a detailed presentation on the educational initiatives undertaken by SCERT Jammu to improve learning outcomes across the region. ACS Shantmanu interacted with staff members, encouraging them to continue their dedicated efforts in enhancing foundational learning. He also addressed concerns faced by SCERT Jammu and assured his support in resolving them. In his address, ACS praised SCERT Jammu for its commitment to innovative education and reaffirmed his support for strengthening the educational landscape in the region. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by H.R. Pakhroo, who expressed gratitude to ACS Shantmanu for his valuable time, insights, and unwavering support for SCERT’s initiatives. He also acknowledged the dedication of the SCERT Jammu team and assured continued efforts to improve learning experiences for young minds.
