Srinagar, Mar 05: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Hazratbal, Salman Sagar on Wednesday raised two significant public issues in the Assembly, focusing on healthcare accessibility and the long-pending payments of contractors under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).
Highlighting the need for improved ambulance services in Zakoora, Faqir Gujri and Khimber, Sagar questioned the government regarding the availability of these critical healthcare facilities.
In response, the government assured that ambulances would soon be provided to Zakoora and Khimber under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK). It said Faqir Gujri already has an ambulance and an advanced Critical Care 4×4 ambulance is expected to be deployed in the area soon.
To further enhance emergency healthcare, a Critical Care (108) ambulance is stationed at Darbagh Harwan to cater to the medical needs of the region, the government said, adding that these developments aim to strengthen emergency medical response and improve healthcare accessibility for the local population
Sagar also raised concerns over the pending payments of contractors under MPLADS. He questioned why a portion of the funds had been withheld despite partial payments being processed as per due procedure.
Emphasising the importance of fair and uniform application of the codal formalities, he assured that the matter would be revisited during the cut motion to ensure justice for the affected contractors.
The MLA Hazratbal reaffirmed his commitment to public welfare, saying he would continue to raise key issues affecting his constituency and work towards accountability and transparency in governance.
