Srinagar, Dec 3: Youth Volleyball Championship was organised under the aegis of the Youth Engagement program in 79 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force, Srinagar, on Friday in which three local teams from Sonwar, Lawaypora and Indranagar participated.
The competition was inaugurated by Kishore Kumar, Commandant 79 Bn (Srinagar) after introducing all the players. The first match was played between Sonwar and Indranagar which was won by Sonwar 2-0. The second match played between Lawaypora and Indranagar was won by Lawaypora 2-0. The final match of the Youth Volleyball championship was played between Sonwar and Lawaypora in which both teams played excellent sportsmanship and in the end, Sonwar won 2-1.
At the conclusion of the competition, the chief guest Kishore Kumar spoke about the importance of sports and its impact on society, thus motivating the local youth to join various sports programme of 79 Bn. He said CRPF has always been working for the welfare of the people, social harmony, and development by organising blood camps and various types of works under civic action programme which also include medicine distribution, and flag march to develop nationality and make people aware of drug addiction. At the end of the game, the winners and runners-up players were awarded medals and trophies.
The people praised the 79 Bn, CRPF (Srinagar) and expressed their desire to always participate in such types of games.
On the occasion, Vishwa Deep Singh, Second In Command, Abhigyan Kumar, DC, Suraj Subhash Pawar, AC, Jagdish BC, AC, and other officers of the 79 Bn, CRPF (Srinagar), jawans, and local people were present to encourage the players.
