Srinagar, Jan 11: A14-year-old Malik Daniyal Gulzar has emerged as a rising football sensation, earning the distinguished honour of being the sole player from the district to participate in the upcoming National Football Cup in Jharkhand.
Daniyal’s hailig from Malik Mohalla Kupwara’s remarkable achievement not only brings glory to Kupwara but also sheds light on the untapped football talent flourishing in the border district. His journey to the national level commenced during the District Youth Services sports event in Kupwara, where his exceptional skills in the under-14 age group caught the discerning eye of selectors.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir Malik Daniyal expressed his joy and determination, articulating his aspirations to leave an indelible mark for Jammu and Kashmir on the national stage and, eventually, on the international football scene.
Inspired by his father, a revered footballer from a bygone era, Daniyal’s deep familial connection to the sport serves as a driving force behind his passion and unwavering dedication to excel in football. His journey stands as a testament to the pivotal role of mentorship and familial support in nurturing young talent.
Speaking from Nagrota, Daniyal, currently in the midst of training, shared his humble beginnings, playing in the local fields of Malik Mohalla Kupwara. Expressing his dreams and determination, he declared, “I want to be a celebrity of football, and I will give my blood and sweat to fulfill this dream.”
In a heartfelt appeal to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir, Daniyal, a class 8th student, urged them to steer clear of futile engagements and concentrate on brightening their futures through academic excellence and sports achievements.
“I would like to appeal to the youth of J&K to excel in sports as it will keep them away from drugs and other harmful activities,” he added, encapsulating the spirit of hope and inspiration that Daniyal brings to the realm of sports in the region.
