Poonch July 21: Ahead of the annual Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra, top officials from the Jammu & Kashmir Police, CRPF, BSF, and Indian Army carried out a high-level review of the security and logistical arrangements to ensure a smooth and peaceful pilgrimage. The revered shrine, located in the Mandi subdivision of Poonch district, is set to welcome thousands of devotees from across India from July 28 to August 9, 2025.Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir, Nalin Prabhat, visited the Baba Budha Amarnath Shrine on Sunday to assess the preparedness on the ground. He was accompanied by senior officials including DIG CRPF, BSF 38 Battalion Commandant Madan Mohan, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Tejinder Singh, and other senior officers from the army and police.During his visit, DGP Nalin Prabhat offered prayers at the shrine and chaired a joint security review meeting with officers of the police, paramilitary forces, and shrine management committee. The meeting focused on key aspects of security, coordination, surveillance, and crowd management.To enhance safety this year, advanced surveillance measures have been introduced, including the installation of CCTV cameras at multiple strategic locations. Additionally, checkposts and quick reaction teams will be deployed along the route to respond swiftly to any situation.Talking to Rising Kashmir, district president of Bajrang Dal, Nishu Gupta, stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a hassle-free experience for pilgrims, especially those coming from outside Jammu & Kashmir. He urged devotees to participate in the Yatra without fear, as robust security and facilities are in place.”The Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra is not just a spiritual journey but a symbol of communal harmony and devotion. We are committed to making it a safe and successful event,” Gupta said.Authorities have appealed to all devotees to cooperate with the administration and security personnel, and to follow all guidelines during the pilgrimage.With the combined efforts of multiple security and civil agencies, this year’s Yatra is expected to be one of the safest and most organised yet.
