YNC holds key meeting to strengthen grassroots engagement

Salman Sagar, Mushtaq Mir call it ‘a platform for future leadership’

Srinagar, Jul 05: The Youth National Conference (YNC) held an interactive session on Saturday with its newly appointed members and office bearers, aiming to boost grassroots connections and youth engagement within the party.The session was chaired by YNC Provincial President Mushtaq Mir, with former YNC Provincial President and incumbent MLA Hazratbal, Salman Ali Sagar, attending as the Guest of Honour, the party said in a statement issued hereSalman Sagar described YNC as a vital part of the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference. “YNC is not just a youth wing—it is the incubator of leadership and a torchbearer of our legacy. It has consistently produced future leaders for the party,” he said. “From every district and mohalla, we must inspire youth to believe in democratic values and responsible leadership. The strength of our movement lies in the passion and clarity of our youth. You are not just representing a political organisation—you are representing history, vision, and the aspirations of our people.”YNC Provincial President Mushtaq Ahmad Mir emphasised building the party from the grassroots. “This is more than just a meeting; it marks a new beginning. We will strengthen the party at the block, halqa, and mohalla levels. Each of you is a pillar of this effort,” he said, adding, “We must reconnect with the people in every lane, every village, and every ward. That’s where the real change begins. Let us make YNC a proactive, responsive, and people-centric platform. The vision of Sher-e-Kashmir lives through your dedication, your humility, and your service. Let’s carry that vision forward with pride and purpose.”Mir congratulated the newly appointed functionaries and encouraged them to carry the party’s message with integrity and resolve. “YNC is the heartbeat of our movement. As torchbearers of tomorrow, you must act with unity, dignity, and discipline. The responsibility is great, but so is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference,” he said.The session also saw the presence of Provincial Vice Presidents Irfan Zehgeer, Abid Wani, Salman Mattu, Pirzada Musharraf; Provincial Secretary Sheikh Ovaise; Zone Presidents Rayees Mattu, Zahid Mughal, Feroz Wani and district presidents.The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to uphold the party’s democratic values and deepen youth engagement at the grassroots level.
