Srinagar, May 2: In the run-up to Hajj-2025, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Friday visited the Hajj House in Bemina to review the arrangements and assess the readiness of essential services for the departing pilgrims.
The first batch of pilgrims is scheduled to leave for the sacred journey on May 4. During the visit, the Div Com was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Bilal Mohi-ud-din Bhat, along with officials from the Airport Authority of India, BCAS, Health, PHE, KPDCL, Information Department, Hajj Committee, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, J&K Police, Customs, Immigration, SpiceJet, and various banking institutions.
The Div Com conducted a thorough inspection of the infrastructure and services in place, including forex counters established by banks, baggage screening facilities, e-bracelet counters, and boarding arrangements. He also assessed the cleanliness of accommodation facilities and the availability of essential utilities such as water supply and uninterrupted electricity. Officers from the Hajj Committee briefed the Div Com on the comprehensive measures taken to ensure effective security, traffic regulation, sanitation, and other critical services. Emphasising the importance of a smooth and dignified experience for the pilgrims, Bidhuri directed all departments to ensure meticulous service delivery. He called for cohesive and well-coordinated efforts to guarantee the comfort, safety, and spiritual well-being of the pilgrims throughout their stay and departure process.
