Uttar Pradesh, Dec 16: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today felicitated and interacted with the youth during the Pratibha Samman Samaroh held at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College in Gonda. The event was organized to commemorate the death anniversary of former Member of Parliament and senior BJP leader Satya Deo Singh.
Paying tribute to the late leader, the Lieutenant Governor recalled Satya Deo Singh’s dedicated service to the nation. “Satya Deo Singh was a widely respected leader who distinguished himself in various capacities over a public career spanning more than four decades. He understood the challenges facing India and remained committed to providing solutions that ensured social equal-ity and equal access to opportunities for all,” he said.
In his address, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized the significant changes taking place in the higher education sector under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that the visionary National Education Policy (NEP) is laying a strong foundation for India’s future growth. “Focus on knowledge connectivity, skilling, entrepreneurship, and sustained growth has made India the world’s new growth engine,” he said.
Highlighting the role of educational institutions in building the future workforce, the Lieutenant Governor stressed that they must promote learning beyond the classroom. “The National Educa-tion Policy 2020 focuses on capacity building to adapt to continuously changing scenarios. It en-courages educational institutions to foster new discoveries and inventions,” he said.
He added that India, as the fastest growing economy, must aim to ensure its share of global GDP exceeds a quarter by 2047. The Lieutenant Governor also called for reforms aligned with NEP 2020 to create an environment where students acquire the skills and values needed to tackle real-world challenges.
Sinha further highlighted the importance of fostering innovation, research, and interdisciplinary education in higher institutions. “Every higher educational institution should focus on four im-portant aspects – Access, Equity, Quality, and Outcome,” he said. He also urged that students be prepared for moral leadership and encouraged to work for the welfare of society.
During the event, the Lieutenant Governor felicitated individuals who excelled in various fields and inaugurated the Shastri Pavilion at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College. He also re-leased a publication by the Satya Saroj Foundation.
The event was attended by Neha Sharma, President of the Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree Col-lege Managing Committee; Varsha Singh, Vice President; members of the Satya-Saroj Founda-tion; prominent citizens; faculty members; and students of the college.
