BGSBU celebrates 78th Independence Day

Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated 78th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and gaiety.

Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor BGSBU received the guard of honour and unfurled the National flag.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Akbar paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters who paid supreme sacrifices during the freedom struggle. While highlighting India’s global prominence and the country’s rapid strides at the economic, social, sustainable, digital and technological domains, Prof. Akbar said that India has a glorious past and a bright future.

Prof. Akbar mentioned that during the last decade India has achieved a distinctive position on the globe and has emerged as one of the fastest economies in the world.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Akbar underscored the pivotal role of the Higher Education institutions towards holistic development of the students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills that contribute to the country’s evolution.

On the occasion, Prof. Akbar highlighted some of the landmark initiatives taken up by the University towards inclusivity and holistic de development of the University.

Prof. Akbar also mentioned the exceptional research and development achievements of the University and congratulated the faculty and staff for their efforts in creating a niche for BGSBU at national and global level.

Prof. Akbar said that despite being a young University in terms of its age, BGSBU has been at the forefront of taking several innovative and student centric initiatives which have been widely applauded and even replicated by other institutions.

The Vice-Chancellor congratulated the University fraternity for organising and participating in various events on campus.

On the occasion a cultural program was presented by the students of various departments of the University. Department of Urdu, organised a mushaira on the occasion.

Those who were present on the occasion included Mr. Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Registrar, Dr. A A Shah, Dean of Students, Associate Deans, Faculty and staff and students of the University.
