Aishmuqam Incident: Another wounded person succumbs, death toll reaches 4

Another injured man died of his injuries a few days after a man went wild in the Aishmuqam, Anantnag. In the incident three persons were killed and six others had received injuries.

According to local sources, on Saturday morning another man succumbs at Srinagar hospital nine days after being injured.

“Mohd Sultan Saqa (40), son of Gh Mohammad Saqa, a resident of Aishmuqam, unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura,” a local said.

On December 23, the deceased (Saqa) was first taken to GMC Anantnag where from he was referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment and breathed his last on Saturday morning, he said.

Pertinently, the incident took place on December 23, when a person broke loose and started hitting everyone who came to his way. The accused also murdered his mother and wounded his father.

There has been no official word about the health condition of the accused, whether he has a mental illness or was under the influence of drugs.

An official said, the health tests of the accused have been sent and the reports are awaited.
