Poonch Aug 15: The Poonch Campus of University of Jammu celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day with a grand and patriotic event here today. The campus was adorned with tricolor decorations, evoking a sense of national pride and unity among students, teaching faculty and non-teaching staff.
The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by Chief Guest Director Poonch Campus Prof. Rakesh Vaid along with the students, teaching faculty and non-teaching staff.
The fluttering tricolor against the azure sky symbolized the sacrifices made by countless freedom fighters and the progress the nation has achieved since gaining independence. The faculty and students of Poonch Campus presented national anthem soon after the hoisting of National flag.
The event saw the participation of enthusiastic students from diverse backgrounds, showcasing their talents through various cultural performances that paid homage to the country’s rich heritage.
Stirring patriotic songs, mesmerizing dance routines, and thought-provoking speeches resonated with the audience, reminding everyone of the significance of unity, diversity and freedom.
In his address Director Poonch Campus Prof. Rakesh Vaid highlighted the importance of preserving the values and principles laid down by the founding fathers of the nation. He emphasized that the youth play a pivotal role in shaping India’s future and urged everyone to contribute positively to the nation’s growth and development.
Dr Rubia Bukhari Campus Officer Poonch Campus expressed gratitude to all participants and attendees for making the celebration a resounding success. Poonch Campus believes in nurturing not only academic excellence but also instilling a deep sense of patriotism and social responsibility among our students. This Independence Day celebration is a testament to our commitment to holistic education,” Dr Bukhari stated.
Dr.Suraksha Chanotra said that Independence Day isn’t just a date on the calendar; it’s a symbol of our shared identity, a testament to the unyielding spirit of a people who dared to dream of self-governance and embraced the call of liberty.
Dr Palvi Sharma shared a poetic expression that resonates with the spirit of our nation’s freedom. The poetry she presented during this momentous occasion, beautifully captures the essence of India’s journey towards independence and the enduring values that define our nation.
The celebration culminated in a colorful cultural bonanza by the students of the Department of Sericulture Poonch Campus, symbolizing the collective hope and aspirations of the Indian people for a brighter future.
