Srinagar, Jul 02: Senior People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader, Arif Laigaroo, has strongly condemned the National Conference-led government and the party’s Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA), Shamima Firdous, for their “total failure” in addressing the severe water crisis affecting Habba Kadal, including Nawabazar, Shaoragari Mohalla, Kaka Sob, Jamalata, and Chattabal.
“It is shameful that during the sacred days of Muharram, people are struggling for even a single drop of water. The administration is in deep slumber, and the local MLA Shamima Firdous, is missing from the ground. She has completely failed the people who voted for her,” he said.
Laigaroo accused the government of neglecting the basic civic needs of the people, especially at a time when the community needs proper facilities for Muharram processions and religious gatherings.
The PDP leader appealed to the administration to immediately address the crisis and ensure all basic amenities — especially water — are made available without delay.
