Srinagar, May 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday chaired a high-level Unified Headquarters (UHQ) meeting at Raj Bhawan, Srinagar, to review the prevailing security situation in the Union Territory and finalize arrangements for the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
The meeting was attended by Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, GoC 15 Corps Lt Gen Prashant Srivastava, GoC 16 Corps Lt Gen P.K. Mishra, GoC 9 Corps Lt Gen Rajan Sharawat, and Air Vice Marshal Vikas Sharma, AOC J&K.
Also present were Principal Secretary (Home) Chandraker Bharti, ADGP CID Nitish Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor and CEO SASB Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, along with senior officers from the Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces, J&K Police, Intelligence Agencies, and civil administration.
The Lieutenant Governor commended the security forces for the recent success of ‘Operation Sindoor’, which led to the neutralisation of multiple terrorists over the past few days. He appreciated the coordinated efforts of the armed forces, intelligence agencies, and J&K Police in maintaining peace and order.
Emphasizing the importance of continued vigilance, Sinha directed all security agencies to conduct intelligence-led, precision operations aimed at eliminating terrorist threats and dismantling support networks. He reiterated the administration’s resolve toward achieving a ‘terror-free J&K’.
The security preparedness for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, scheduled to take place from July 3 to August 9, 2025, was also extensively reviewed. The Lieutenant Governor instructed senior officers to take all necessary steps to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the sacred pilgrimage.
