Srinagar, May 02: People’s Democratic Front (PDF) president and former minister, Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen on Friday expressed deep anguish and heartfelt sorrow over the demise of Maulana Mubarak Mubarki, president of Bazm-e-Tawheed and Khateeb of Bazar Masjid, Srinagar.
Calling the demise of the esteemed religious leader a “monumental loss” to the socio-religious fabric of Jammu and Kashmir, Yaseen said that Maulana Mubarki’s contributions will be remembered for generations.
In a condolence message issued here, the PDF chief paid tributes to Maulana Mubarki, describing him as a towering Islamic scholar, a spiritual guide, and a symbol of humility and wisdom.
“Maulana Mubarki devoted his entire life to the service of religion, tirelessly working to spread the message of peace, unity and compassion through his sermons and community initiatives. He was not just a Khateeb or a religious preacher; he was a source of moral clarity and spiritual strength for thousands of people,” Hakeem said.
Recalling his personal interactions with the late Maulana, Hakeem said he always found him to be a man of immense knowledge, patience, and unwavering commitment to Islamic values.
“Maulana Mubarki’s leadership of Bazm-e-Tawheed and his decades of service at the Bazar Masjid made him a revered figure, not just in Srinagar, but across the length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir. His sermons always carried messages of brotherhood, tolerance, and reform. In an age where the world grapples with division and conflict, his voice was one of rare sanity and spiritual depth,” the former minister said, adding that such personalities are born once in a generation.
Hakeem offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, students and followers of Maulana Mubarak Mubarki.
