Srinagar, May 01: After the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, that claimed innocent lives of scores of tourists and a local service provider, badly affecting the tourism sector, several bollywood celebrities have come forward in solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

In their message, the celebrities have urged people across India to stand with the Valley by continuing to travel to Kashmir not just as tourists, but as partners in peace and resilience.

Actor Sunil Shetty was among the first to express support towards Kashmir, followed by many other stars including Ritesh Deshmukh, who urged people to visit the valley and stand against fear.

“Now is the time to show unity, not retreat,” Deshmukh said.

Recently, cctor Atul Kulkarni also visited Pahalgam, offering a heartfelt message after interacting with locals.

“The people of Kashmir have opened their hearts to visitors for generations. We must not let fear interrupt that bond,” Kulkarni said.

Kulkarni’s message was echoed by filmmaker Nandita Das and actor Jackie Shroff, who praised the strength and hospitality of Kashmiris. “When the world closes in fear, Kashmir opens its doors with warmth,” Das wrote.

Following the deadly attack, the people of the Valley, known for their hospitality, have once again shown their spirit in the face of adversity. In a rare show of unity, Kashmiris observed a complete shutdown to condemn the attack. Traders, transporters, and locals emphasized that such violence has no place in their land. People of the valley have always welcomed guests with open arms.

“Kashmir has always treated its guests like family,” said Younis Rather, a tour operator from Srinagar. Adding, “Tourism is not just a livelihood here, it’s a tradition rooted in our culture of hosting with grace and respect.”

Bollywood stars including Dia Mirza, Rajkummar Rao, and Swara Bhaskar have also added their voices, calling upon the people across India not to cancel their travel plans.

“Kashmir is a land of peace and beauty, and it’s the people who make it special,” said Dia Mirza.
