Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat on Thursday announced a major manpower optimization drive, revealing he cut two-thirds of his own security.
Speaking at Thana Diwas the DGP, emphasized on the improved resource allocation, police incentivization, and evolving technology to enhance efficiency in law enforcement across the region.
“There is a saying that charity begins at home, so I have initiated improved resource allocation from myself by reliving two thirds of my security guards, “he said.
The DGP said that “Rome was not built in a day” and all the battles will be won eventually.
Referring to the incentivization of the police personnel DGP Prabhat said, “From day one I have said in different meetings that whoever does good work, he will get a good posting.”
He said, “I have told everyone that do something big work for the country and within one minute you will get the posting you want.”
Referring to the fight against narcotics, the DGP said, “Drugs are reaching here through western borders. The entire narcotics racket is managed by Pakistan Army and ISI through different tanzeems (outfits) and through smugglers. This is a challenge and J&K Police will keep on fighting with it till the battle against drugs is won.”
DGP Prabhat said that he equates war against drugs at an “equal pedestal” at war against terrorism. “Both the wars are on.”
He expressed concern over school going children getting involved in drug trade. ” It’s the duty of the parents to keep a vigil at the activities of their children,” the DGP added—(KNO)
