Jammu, Dec 15: The Annual Ex-Boys’ Meet of Sainik School Nagrota was celebrated with great fervour and camaraderie at the School Auditorium.
A statement issued here said that large number of alumni, accompanied by their families and children, returned to their alma mater to relive cherished memories of their formative years at the institution.
“The event commenced with a warm welcome and an introductory address by Capt (IN) Shibu Devasia, the Principal. The gathering was captivated by an exhilarating cultural program presented by the cadets, featuring a fusion dance, a nukkad natak, a traditional Nepali dance, and a mesmerizing musical performance by the school’s renowned music troop, The Decibel,” the statement said.
It said that one of the highlights of the event was the celebration of the Silver Jubilee of the 1992-99 batch, who took to the stage to express their heartfelt gratitude to the school for shaping their lives and presented mementoes as a token of appreciation. “Brig Gurmeet Singh Shan, President of NEXAS, addressed the gathering with inspiring words and presented a token of appreciation to the outgoing Class XII cadets for their outstanding performance in the UPSC NDA Written Examination,” the statement said.
It said that the School Band delivered a splendid performance at the Drill Square, evoking nostalgia among the alumni as they reminisced about their school days. “The event also included a sumptuous lunch, followed by a guided tour of the hostels and playfields, providing the alumni and their families a chance to revisit and relive the unforgettable moments of their school journey,” the statement said, adding that the Ex-Boys’ Meet reaffirmed the enduring bond between the alumni and their alma mater, celebrating the legacy and values of Sainik School Nagrota.
