Kargil, Apr 02: A four-member delegation from the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), led by Additional Secretary Raj Kumar, conducted a thorough assessment of arrangements for the inaugural Civil Services Examination (CSE) prelims-2024 in Kargil.
The meeting, chaired by Shrikant Suse, Deputy Commissioner/CEO of LAHDC, Kargil, focused on ensuring the smooth conduct of the examination. The UPSC team delivered a comprehensive presentation detailing the roles and responsibilities of various stakeholders including coordinating supervisors, invigilators, venue supervisors, and local inspecting officers.
Key discussions revolved around Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) covering candidate entry and exit, seating arrangements, secure storage, and the deployment of security personnel. Emphasis was placed on effective communication channels, with all exam functionaries instructed to promptly report any issues to the UPSC control room for swift resolution.
Following the meeting, the UPSC officials conducted venue audits at proposed examination centers including Govt. Degree College, Kargil, Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School, and Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School. Additional SP Kargil, Nitin Yadav, Additional Deputy Commissioner Suhail Ahmed, Principal of GDC Kargil, Amina Qari, and other officials were present to ensure coordination and cooperation.
The meticulous review underscores UPSC’s commitment to conducting examinations with integrity and fairness, particularly in challenging terrains like Kargil. With preparations well underway, candidates can expect a conducive environment for the upcoming CSE prelims-2024 in Kargil.
