A 14-year-old boy was found dead lying in a pond in Chak area of Binner, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.
The body was discovered lying in a pond by locals who informed the police immediately.
A police official said that the dead body was fished from a water pond on Friday morning.
Police later on identified the deceased as Aadil Hussain, son of Saifuddin, a resident of Donowari Rafiabad.
The police authorities stated that after completing the legal-medical formalities the body is being handed over to the legal heirs.
The cause of Aadil’s death is currently unknown and the police have taken cognizance of the case.
“Further investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the tragic incident,” the police said.
