Srinagar, July 22: The Traffic Police Headquarters, Jammu and Kashmir, has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for July 23 urging commuters and transporters to adhere to specific cut-off timings and road usage restrictions due to ongoing Amarnath Yatra, road repairs and weather-related concerns.A statement issued here said that for smooth Amarnath Yatra, specific traffic measures have been taken. “To ensure hassle-free Yatra movement, the UT administration has directed all fuel tankers, LPG carriers, empty FCI trucks and vehicles up to 10 tyres must return via Mughal Road, not NH-44,” the advisory states. “For Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag (NH-244)–LMVs and HPSVs allowed both ways, 0800–1600 hrs from Anantnag side, 0900–1500 hrs from Kishtwar. No HMVs allowed, as per orders from SDM Chhatroo and SDM Kokernag.”It said that traffic will be allowed from both directions (Jammu to Srinagar), subject to fair weather and road conditions. “Cut-off timings–Nagrota (Jammu): 0600 – 1200 hrs, Jakheni (Udhampur): 0700 – 1300 hrs, Qazigund (towards Jammu): 1130 – 1400 hrs while as no vehicle will be allowed before or after these timings.  HMVs/Load Carriers–allowed from NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) towards Jammu after clearance by TCU Srinagar and Ramban. No HMV shall be allowed after 1900 hrs. Only HMVs with 6 and 10 tyres are permitted on Dhar Road.”It said that vehicles carrying fresh perishables/livestock must load as per advisory and report before 0900 hrs at designated points between NAVYUG Tunnel and Levdoora.  “Overloading must be avoided; vehicles should carry sufficient fuel and ensure mechanical fitness,” the advisory further states. “For Reasi, Katra, Udhampur, Doda, Patnitop and Ramban commuters must carry valid photo ID after cut-off timings for smooth facilitation.”The advisory reads that Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari (SSG) Road–LMVs followed by HMVs are allowed. “From Minamarg to Srinagar: 0500 – 1000 hrs, Sonamarg to Kargil: 1130 – 1730 hrs, movement of SFs convoys must not interfere with Yatra traffic while as for Mughal Road (Jammu to Srinagar via Poonch–LMVs allowed both sides; HMVs (up to 10 tyres) only from Shopian to Poonch.”The advisory reads that traffic will be allowed from 0700 – 1800 hrs via Behramgala (Baffliaz) and Herpora (Shopian). “Travellers are advised to confirm route status before travel, Jammu: 0191-2459048, 0191-2740550, 9419147732, 103, Srinagar: 0194-2450022, 2485396, 18001807091, 103, Ramban: 9419993745, 1800-180-7043, Udhampur: 8491928625, PCR Kishtwar: 9906154100 and PCR Kargil: 9541902330, 9541902331,” it added.
