Jammu, July 2: In view of the ongoing ‘Van Mahotsav week’, the JKCA launched a massive plantation drive at the JKCA Complex, Hostel Ground, Jammu. More than a hundred trees are being planted around the ground.According to a statement issued to Rising Kashmir, the ceremony began with the planting of trees by Brig. Anil Gupta, Member Administration, JKCA, Anil Choudhary, International Umpire, Vivek Khajuria, In-charge Grounds Maintenance and Development, and Vikas Dalal, BCCI Umpire. These trees, apart from providing shade, will also add to the scenic beauty of the ground, stated Brig. Anil Gupta. The variety of trees being planted includes Bottle Brush, Arjun, Cassia, Neem, Sukchain, Amal Tash, etc. Brig. Gupta insisted that our job does not finish with the mere plantation of trees, but we also need to ensure that they are properly cared for and maintained. He made an appeal to the ground staff of JKCA for each individual to adopt five trees and take care of them until they are properly grown. Caring for trees and ensuring greenery is not only beneficial for all of us, but is also very necessary for our future generations, stated Choudhary.
