Jammu, Jan 30: In a virtual interaction “LG’s Mulaqaat- Live Public Grievance Hearing,” Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha personally addressed citizens’ concerns and directed officials to expedite solutions transparently.
Expressing the importance of professionalism in public service, he directed the officers to maintain accountability and consistently strive for improvement.
Citizens from various regions, including Ramban, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Budgam, and Anantnag, had their grievances addressed during the session, primarily focusing on issues related to the Power Development Department, Jal Shakti, Labour, and Social Welfare Department.
Lt Governor Sinha stressed the need for officials to engage with the public and formulate a comprehensive strategy for the maintenance of essential infrastructure such as borewells, handpumps, and power distribution lines. He also emphasized the saturation of scholarships and pension schemes.
Highlighting effective communication as fundamental to good governance, the Lt Governor commended citizens and officials for their exemplary participation in the 75th Republic Day celebrations. Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, Secretary of Public Grievances, conducted the proceedings.
The event was attended by key officials, including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary R K Goyal, Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, HoDs, both in person and through virtual mode.
Lt Governor Sinha concluded by reiterating that mutual listening is the cornerstone of effective governance, demonstrating a commitment to transparent and responsive administration.
