Kargil, Jan 20: The 4th LG Cup Ice Hockey 2024-25 concluded with high-octane matches and stellar performances at the Ice Hockey Rink Biamathang, Kargil, reinforcing Ladakh’s position as the ice- hockey capital of India.
In a gripping men’s final, the LSRC Army Team clinched victory by defeating the ITBP Team with a narrow one-goal margin. In the women’s category, the ITBP Women’s Team delivered a dominant performance, defeating the LWIHF Team with an emphatic 9-0 scoreline, asserting their dominance in the tournament.
The event was graced by the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr.) BD Mishra (Retd), who lauded the vibrant spirit of the people of Kargil and commended the organizing committee for their efforts in hosting a memorable tournament. The LG assured the timely completion of the International Standard All-Weather Ice Hockey Rink in Kargil and proposed adding an amphitheatre to enhance the spectator experience at the venue. He expressed hope that teams from Ladakh would soon represent India on the global ice hockey stage.
