Srinagar, July 19: Arif Laigaroo, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) State Secretary and constituency in-charge of Habba Kadal, participated in the ongoing Muharram Procession held at Islamyarbal Shamswari Fatehkadal in Srinagar on Friday.
Alongside Sameer ul Jameel, Fayaz Rah Sheikh, and Nauman Aqib Farooq, Laigaroo actively engaged in distributing refreshments to the mourners gathered for the solemn occasion.
Speaking at the event, Laigaroo underscored the importance of Muharram processions, which commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Husain (AS) and his family’s sacrifice for the cause and dignity of Islam.
“The Muharram processions provide an opportunity for people from all walks of life to pay homage to Imam Hussain and reflect on his legacy,” Laigaroo remarked. “It is heartening to witness everyone coming forward voluntarily to serve the mourners by offering refreshments and support.”
He expressed gratitude to all participants, including party workers, for their involvement in the event. “Such occasions of communal service not only honor the memory of Imam Husain but also foster unity and solidarity among the people,” he said. “By serving the community during these significant moments, we contribute to building a cohesive and prosperous society.”
