A calamity struck the family of Konan Village in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district as a mother-son duo passed away within a span of a few minutes.
A local told Rising Kashmir that on Sunday evening, a 50-year-old man namely Mohammad Shaban, son of Gh Qadir Bhat of Konan village of Bandipora, endured a massive cardiac arrest and was then moved to District hospital Bandipora, where the doctors declared him ‘dead on arrival’.
Upon hearing the news of the death of her only son, 80-year-old Bakhti Begum was afflicted by a severe heart attack. She was then taken to DH Bandipora, where she was also declared as ‘dead on arrival’.
A sense of despair overwhelmed the village as the news of the mother and son spread. Bodies of both have been shifted to their abode for the final rites.
