Kathua/Udhampur, Dec 05: Under an initiative ‘My Town My Pride’ taken by JKUT, the Sub-Office Kathua of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organised a musical programme at Town Hall, Kathua. The programme was organised under the guidance of Bharat Singh (JKAS) Secretary, J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages.
SOCA Kathua Sanjeev Gupta said Bharat Singh directed him to stand tall with the administration when required to support their endeavours. JKAACL always came forward to promote the rich cultural heritage and today’s programme is yet another example of the same, he said.
The programme started with the power-packed singing by Bunty Kumar, Vinay Kumar and Shakti Kumar which mesmerised everyone in the audience with the powerful singing. This was followed by yet another mesmerising singing by Anurag who left no stone unturned to make the programme a grand success. Those who accompanied the singers were also the masters of their respective instruments including Amit Kumar Gulshan (Keyboard), Rohit Kumar (Guitar), Akshay Kumar (Dholak) and Rohit Kumar (Octopad).
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with District administration, Udhampur organised a street play (Nukkad Natak) here on Monday at Town Hall, under an initiative ‘My Town My Pride’ programme. The title of the play was ‘Nasha Chhodo’ written and directed by Mohan Mistry and presented by Abhiyaan Kala Manch, Udhampur. The programme was organised under the guidance of Bharat Singh.
The play ‘Nasha Chhodo’ showcased how the drug-menace is ruining the generations and thus crippling the developing nations and pushing generations to death, devastation and destruction. The play unfolded a series of incidents where people are influenced by drugs, alcohol and other intoxications which create hell for themselves as well as for their loved-ones. It gave a message that many precious lives are being charred in this fire of drug menace which is to be fought unitedly. The play tried to make a strong appeal to save mankind from this uncontrolled dragon. Actors who participated in the play were Mohan Mistri, Madan Kundal, DevendraSharma, Ratan Lal, Anil, Rahul, Tarun and Dev Dutt. The play was coordinated by Pankaj Sharma.
