DYSS inter school taekwondo competition begins in Poonch

Poonch, May 31: The Department of Youth Services and Sports J&K kicked off an electrifying inter-school Taekwondo competition on Wednesday in Poonch, featuring young athletes in the under 14 and under 17 boys and girls categories. The Sports Stadium in Poonch served as the battleground where 100 budding athletes from various schools in Zone Poonch showcased their exceptional skills and unwavering determination. Under the guidance of District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mohd Qasim, and the supervision of Narinder Singh, ZPEO Poonch, the competition commenced with great enthusiasm.
The competition was officially inaugurated by District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mohd Qasim, in the esteemed presence of S. Narinder Singh, ZPEO, and S. Harbans Singh, PEM. The warm welcome was extended by Rajinder Singh, Physical Education Teacher and Taekwondo Coach of the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
Addressing the young participants, Chief Guest Mohd Qasim conveyed his best wishes to all the players and emphasized the importance of embodying true sportsmanship. He encouraged the athletes to give their all, reminding them that their participation itself is a victory. Zonal Physical Education Officer Poonch, S. Narinder Singh, also extended his best wishes to all the participants, urging them to showcase their skills and enjoy the experience.
The bouts were conducted under the technical supervision of Rajinder Singh, a National Referee, accompanied by his team comprising of Pawandeep Singh, PET, Aman Sharma, REK, and other esteemed members from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, Poonch.
The results for the Boys under 14 category are as follows: Sehzad Ahmed, Mohd Firdose, Rananjay Gupta, Chanderdeep Shandil, Garvin Gupta, Rehan Mehmood. All the mentioned participants displayed exceptional talent and secured Gold medals for their outstanding performances.
The results for the Girls under 14 category are as: Tahzeem Akhter, Taniyana Koser, Ruksana Akhter, Ronika Dutta, Shagufta, Aasma Tabussam, Maryiam Aziz Mir. These talented young athletes exhibited remarkable skill and determination, earning Gold medals for their exceptional performances.
The DYSS Inter School Taekwondo Competition in Poonch promises to continue thrilling the spectators as the athletes from different schools battle it out for glory. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting event.
