Awantipora, Jul 03: The Department of Mathematical Sciences, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), on Thursday organised an industrial visit to the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), as part of its ongoing Industrial Connect initiative. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world entrepreneurial practices, offering students valuable exposure to industry-led insights, the university said in a statement issued here.During the visit, the students also interacted with experts at JKEDI, including Dr Sameer, Dr Iftikhar, Mr Wajid Agha, and Mr Aijaz, who encouraged students to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career option. Speakers highlighted how mathematics plays a vital role in entrepreneurial success, from data-driven decision-making and financial modelling to risk assessment, optimisation, and innovation.Students were encouraged to apply the analytical and problem-solving skills developed through mathematics to identify market gaps, develop sustainable business models, and drive innovation. The event was coordinated by Dr Afaq Ahmad, Coordinator, Industrial Connect, Department of Mathematical Sciences, IUST.
