Kulgam Dec 19:  The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief Vikar Rasool Wani on Tuesday assured the people that the party is duty-bound to ensure the protection of their rights.
Congress Party, Wani said, will “continue fighting against the BJP’s “dictatorial policies, coercion and vendetta politics unleashed against the people of Jammu and Kashmir”.
“The party will ensure the protection of jobs, land and identities of J&K, which are under assault under BJP rule,” the JKPCC Chief said while addressing a public meeting at Budroo in the Frisal area of Kulgam district. He was accompanied by  JKPCC General Secretaries Anayatullah Rather, Imtiyaz Ahmad Khanday, DCC President Kulgam Amanllah  Matoo and other senior leaders of the party, the party said in a statement.
Addressing the gathering, Vikar Rasool said, “J&K is the victim of BJPs policies based on confrontation and aggression against the innocent people. Congress party will leave no stone unturned to protect land, jobs and resources, which are being looted by the BJP by enacting laws after laws after the downgrading of a full-fledged State into two UTs.”
He added, “The tax terror, unprecedented price hike and open loot of natural resources have pushed J&K towards darkness. Congress is aware and equally anguished over the sufferings common people are confronted with due to the unprecedented price hike of all commodities and multiple taxations.”
Wani referred to the recent executive committee of J&K Congress held in Jammu and said the meeting has resolved to oppose every move of the BJP government to do away with jobs, land and identities of Jammu & Kashmir and fight for the protection of people’s rights in J&K as well as the national level.
