Budgam, Oct 23: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday called for the urgent need for reconciliation between India and Pakistan to halt ongoing hostility and prevent incidents like the recent terror Gagangir attack.
During her visit to the family of Dr Shahnawaz Dar, who was killed in the Gagangir terror attack, Mufti expressed her condolences and spoke to reporters about the suffering experienced by the residents of Jammu and Kashmir due to the animosity between the two nations.
“Such incidents will continue until a reconciliation effort is made, similar to the initiatives undertaken during former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure,” she said.
“It is not only my sentiment; the entire populace desires an end to the hostility between the two nations,” the PDP chief added.
