Srinagar, Sept 23: Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, Chairman of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and nominated candidate for the Khansahib and Charari Sharief assembly constituencies, on Monday said the ongoing legislative assembly elections are crucial for safeguarding the identity and rights of the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He called on voters to support honest and trustworthy candidates.
Speaking at a rally in Khansahib Budgam on the final day of campaigning for the second phase of the ongoing assembly elections, Yaseen urged the public to reject dynastic political parties that have compromised the socio-political aspirations of the people since 1947. “It is important to elect representatives who are committed to restoring constitutional and democratic rights,” he said
The former minister assured the people that the PDF is dedicated to protecting the rights of the people regarding land, employment and political empowerment. He asked voters to assess candidates based on their performance rather than being swayed by hollow slogans.
He cautioned against divisive and anti-secular forces that threaten communal harmony and create an atmosphere of fear.
Hakeem expressed gratitude to the public for their enthusiastic participation in PDF rallies throughout the election campaign.
