Bhaderwah, July 21: Bhaderwah Cricket Academy has launched a new initiative to promote cricket among budding cricketers in the erstwhile district Doda. As part of this scheme, an exposure series for the U-14 group (both boys & girls) has been organized, with plans to extend the exposure to Doda and Kishtwar.
The inaugural match of the U-14 cricket series was held today at College Ground Bhaderwah. The match was played between Dronacharya Cricket Academy and Bhaderwah Cricket Academy, with the support of the Excise and Taxation Department, Doda.
Sameer Malik, ex-Ranji Trophy player and BCCI-affiliated video analyst, has taken the initiative to organize this exposure series, successfully conducting its first phase.
On behalf of Bhaderwah Cricket Academy, Sameer Malik expressed gratitude to the Excise and Taxation Department for their generous sponsorship of the match.
This initiative is a step toward the mission of “Nasha Mukt Bharat,” aiming to steer the new generation away from drug abuse and toward sports activities.
The commitment of the Excise and Taxation Department to fostering community engagement and promoting a healthy, active lifestyle is truly commendable.
The match analysis revealed that Dronacharya Cricket Academy scored 123 runs while batting first, with Sakshi scoring 42 and Arushi scoring 24. Khalid, who took 4 wickets, and Areeb, who took 3 wickets, were the standout bowlers. Bhaderwah Cricket Academy successfully chased the target with only 4 wickets down. Sarthik’s unbeaten 52 earned him the title of Man of the Match, while Athsham also contributed with 18 runs. Piyush took two wickets for Dronacharya Cricket Academy.
The organizing committee recognized special performers of the day: Best Fielder – Haim, Best Batsman – Sarthik, Best Bowler – Khalid, and Man of the Match – Sarthik.
