District Samba Wushu championship begins

Samba, Dec 24: A two-day District Samba Wushu Championship was organized by District Samba Wushu Association at Panchayat Ghar, Kartholi, Bari Brahmana, Samba, in which around 415 players from different clubs and schools are participating.
Former minister Chander Prakash Ganga, who was the chief guest on the occasion, congratulated the District Samba Wushu Association for organizing the championship and providing a platform for youths. He applauded the association for producing many national and international players while calling Rajinder Singh an “icon of Samba”. He assured of taking up the matter of establishing a Wushu Academy in the district with J&K Sports Council.
The principal of Ghou school was the guest of honor on the occasion. Wushu demonstration in both Sanda and Taolu was exhibited, which was appreciated by all those present on the occasion.
The association’s General Secretary presented a vote of thanks and briefed the guests on the achievements of Wushu in Samba. He thanked the Wushu Association of J&K and J&K Sports Council for their support.
